Barcelona football chief Jordi Cruyff has welcomed Gavi’s new contract.
It was announced on Wednesday morning that Gav had signed a new deal to 2026.
Cruyff said, “It is an important renewal. We always had confidence. His dream is to play for Barça, we were never worried. For the club, it’s always good that such a young player wants to link his future to Barça.
“When planning, we always thought Gavi would be with us.”
He also stated: There will always be demands here, every season. It’s a big club, the team is good and they competed well. Football has become very result-based but we have a project here and we need time.
“The coach is happy with the squad he has. We are optimistic.”
