Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has ducked questions around Antoine Griezmann‘s selection.
The France attacker is currently being played off the bench amid claims Atletico are putting pressure on parent club Barcelona to reduce his €45m permanent option price.
Should Griezmann play a set number of minutes, Atletico will be obigated to cough up the fee.
Asked about the situation, Cerezo said: “Antoine is a great player and I am very happy that he is with us. He is a great person and I have a great relationship with him. I can only tell you that he is a magnificent player and he is with us. I never get into selection issues or this type of issue.”
Atletico coach Diego Simeone was asked about the “issue” last week and replied: “Guys, you all know I’m a club man.”
