Chelsea had agreed a £55million deal for the French centre-back but Barca swooped in at the last minute and look to set to sign him from right under their noses.
The Blues spent a year chasing the 23-year-old and are reportedly embarrassed and unhappy at their transfer rivals’ conduct.
Therefore Azpilicueta and Alonso’s moves to Spain could now be blocked. The defensive duo both looked set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
