Barcelona are growing confident of Ousmane Dembele signing a new contract.
The offer Dembele has from Barcelona is only to the value of 60% of his current deal, a 40% pay cut, says the Sport.
His salary was one of the highest at the club and the new deal is tailored to Barcelona‘s new financial reality and their salary structure. He would be on the same level as Ansu Fati.
The club think that it will still be the best offer that Dembele will receive.
Barcelona think that an agreement will come soon, with pre-season starting on July 4. Xavi wants Dembele at Barcelona and Dembele wants to stay. Even though officially, he’s no longer a player at the club.
