Barcelona jump into lead for teenage Palmeiras attacker Endrick

Barcelona have jumped into the lead for Palmeiras attacker Endrick.

Sport says they will open negotiations with the Brazilian side in the coming days.

Barça don’t want to miss out on the young forward, who will turn 16 in July and is already being targeted by Europe’s biggest sides.

The Catalan club consider his signing, which is complicated due to the face he’s still U18 and playing abroad, a strategic one from a sporting point of view.

Endrick would only be allowed to move to Camp Nou in the summer of 2024, when he turns 18.

The teenager and his family are extremely grateful for everything the Brazilian club have done for his career so far.

Barça have already done the necessary legal work to be able to tie Endrick down in July, when he turns 16 and can sign his first professional contract that can, per FIFA rules, only be three years long.

The idea is to reach an agreement with Palmeiras in the coming weeks. That way, his future will be sorted when he signs his contract with his current club, ruling out Europe’s other clubs from getting involved.
