Arsenal hopes of signing Leicester star Tielemans rests on top-four

Arsenal‘s push to sign Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans could depend on them qualifying for the Champions League.

The Foxes midfielder is likely to leave the club in the summer, as his contract expires in a year’s time.

According to the Evening Standard, Tielemans has told Leicester he will not renew, and wants to move to a club in the European places.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Tottenham are among the teams chasing him, along with Arsenal.

While the Gunners are the favoured destination, the North London club must qualify for the Champions League through finishing in the top four to convince Tielemans to join.

The 25-year-old was linked to Manchester United before he moved to Leicester, but those links have cooled in subsequent years.
