Pique SHOCKER: Barcelona defender demanded place in Spain Olympics squad from Rubiales

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique pushed to use his relationship with RFEF president Luis Rubiales to secure a place in Spain’s Olympics squad last year.

In leaked conversations between the pair, published by El Confidencial, Pique asked Rubiales to intervene and find him a place in the Tokyo Games squad.

“You have to do this for me, eh Rubi, you have to get it for me, goddamn it.

“I’m excited that we’re f***ing playing the Olympic Games,” said the central defender in a WhatsApp audio.

“We have to keep it very secret and take the coach when it’s over, in September or whenever. When the competition is over, I’m going to Madrid and we’ll sit down with him, man, and… I’d be thrilled. Let’s see how he does it, we can manage so that it doesn’t come out anywhere or anything. I think this has to be kept very secret between the three of us until the end. Don’t you think so?”

Rubiales said of Spain Olympics coach Luis De la Fuente: “I already told the coach about it and he knows it. He also has to make the decisions and of course you already know that I am delighted to lend a hand there.

“Of course, you have to keep it a secret and the coach, if he trusts, he wants and throws ‘palante’, I will be very delighted.”
