Barcelona midfielder Pedri: Espanyol draw a disappointment

Barcelona midfielder Pedri admits there was “disappointment” after their 2-2 draw at Espanyol.

Pedri had opened the scoring in the second minute only for goals from Sergi Darder and Raul De Tomas to move the home side into the lead. Luuk de Jong would eventually score Barca’s equaliser.

“For me, it’s a disappointment to leave here with one point,” Pedri told Movistar. “We should have made them chase the ball (after leading).”

Both teams ended the game with 10 men after Gerard Pique and Nico Melemed were sent off late on as tensions flared.

“In a derby, you always play at 100 percent,” Pedri added, “but I won’t get involved with the red cards.”

Pedri didn’t want to speak about the LaLiga title race, either, Joan Laporta had said Barça wanted to take advantage of Real Madrid‘s slip-up this weekend, despite the gap between the two teams.

“We just have to win and look up, that’s all we can do,” Pedri said.
