Barcelona chief Jordi: Now time for contract renewals and summer plans

Barcelona football chief Jordi Cruyff says they’re now preparing to renew the contracts of senior players.

Jordi admits they’re pleased with their January market work, after the arrivals of Ferran Torres, Daniel Alves, Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

He said, “During this market we have been focused on reinforcements.

“The goal was to give the coach more weapons with the arrival of players. And it was a very difficult market. Once it is closed now, the next step is the renewal of players and the June market for which we have to finish several things.”

On Daniel Alves not being registered for the Europa League, Jordi also said: “It’s a coach’s decision. There is always dialogue, it’s usual, but the coach had a difficult decision and after analysing the game, minutes and positions he came to this conclusion. And it seems logical to me.”
