LIVE: Bayern Munich vs Freiburg

90′ There will be a minimum of four minutes added time played at the end of the second half.

88′ Decent effort! Another good save by Neuer, this time to deny Holer’s low strike, but the keeper makes a strong stop, before pouncing on the rebound.

86′ There’s not much time left on the clock now and it looks like Bayern will take the three points, with Freiburg getting closeer, but they don’t really look like scoring.

85′ Good save! Hofler goes close from a free-kick, firing a low effort towards the bottom left corner of the net. However, Neuer reads it well and gets down quickly to parry it away to safety.

T. Nianzou

L. Hernández

Bayern München

84′ The other change sees Hernandez slowly walk off the pitch and he has been replaced at centre-back by Kouassi.

E. Choupo-Moting

L. Sané

Bayern München

84′ Late double substitution by Bayern, with Sane the first to come off and he has been replaced by Choupo-Moting.

82′ Bayern have dropped the pace of their game now, which is allowing Freiburg a bit more possession in midfield and the hosts are having to do some more defending.

K. Sildillia

L. Kübler

Freiburg

80′ The other change sees Kubler replaced by Sildillia.

E. Demirović

M. Gulde

Freiburg

80′ Here comes a double change by the visitors as they attempt to get back into the game, with Gulde one of those coming off and he has been replaced by Demirovic.

79′ Freiburg have won 22 points from their 10 Bundesliga games this season (their best ever return at this stage of a campaign). This is the first time they have remained unbeaten in their opening 10 games in a Bundesliga season, also equalling their club record of 10 unbeaten league matches in a row (between 2011-12).

77′ Freiburg need to push forward and try and pull a goal back soon if they can, to make it a nervy finish. However, you would expect Bayern to see this game out now.

L. Sané

Assist

Bayern München

75′ It didn’t look like Sane’s effort was heading on target, so Lewandowski slid in at the back post to fire it past Flekken and send Bayern 2-0 ahead.

R. Lewandowski

Goal

Bayern München

75′ GOAL! LEWANDOWSKI MAKES IT 2-0! Bayern finally have their second of the game and that should wrap up the victory! Davies delivers a low cross into the box from the left wing, which Sane flicks towards goal, but Lewandowski is alert to it at the far post and he diverts it into the back of the net from close range.

74′ Bayern will be hoping that all of these missed goalscoring opportunities don’t come back to haunt them, as they still only lead 1-0, with less than 20 minutes left to play.

J. Haberer

M. Eggestein

Freiburg

73′ Freiburg make their second change now, with Eggestein heading off and he has been replaced by Haberer.

J. Musiala

T. Müller

Bayern München

71′ The other change sees Muller replaced by Musiala.

C. Tolisso

L. Goretzka

Bayern München

71′ Bayern make a double change now, with Goretzka the first to come off and he has been replaced by Tolisso.

70′ Decent chance! Davies finds Gnabry at the far post in the box and he has time to take a touch and fire a shot at goal, but it’s straight at Flekken, who makes a good save.

68′ CLOSE! What a strike by Goretzka! Bayern work the ball into the penalty area and Sane tries to work space for a shot, but can’t quite find a way through and the ball bounces up to Goretzka. The midfielder fires a volley towards the top right corner of the net, but it flies narrowly over the top of the net. A couple of inches lower and that would have gone in!

S. Gnabry

K. Coman

Bayern München

66′ Bayern make their first substitution, with Coman not being involved much today and he has been replaced by Gnabry.

64′ Decent chance! Lewandowski tries to glance the ball into the far corner of the net with a header, as a deep cross is whipped into the box. However, he gets too much on it and it flies over the crossbar.

62′ In their 5-2 win over Union Berlin, Muller was directly involved in four goals (1 goal, 3 assists) for the second time in his Bundesliga career, something he had previously only achieved in an 8-0 win over Hamburger SV in February 2015.

K. Schade

Jeong Woo-Yeong

Freiburg

60′ Freiburg make their first change of the game now, with Jeong the man coming off and he has been replaced by Schade.

58′ Wild effort! Jeong breaks forward quickly, but is completely on his own, so opts to fire an effort towards goal. However, it flies high and wide of the Bayern net.

56′ OFF THE POST! Goretzka almost makes it 2-0! Muller whips a low cross into the penalty area from the right wing and Sane dummies it at the near post, which sends it flying through to Goretzka. The midfielder only has Flekken to beat, but his shot strikes the bottom right post! So close!

54′ Decent chance! Sane fires a powerful effort towards goal, that swerves in front of Flekken and the keeper can only parry it away to safety. Another effort on target for the hosts.

53′ Freiburg are sitting very deep now in an attempt to soak up the Bayern pressure and prevent an oportunity at goal. They have so many players back, that it is difficult for Bayern to find a way through.

51′ It’s pretty comfortable for Bayern at the moment, just keeping the ball in midfield and probing forward. Lewandowski has been kept quiet so far today.

49′ Not too far away! Eggestein tries his luck with an effort from the edge of the penalty area, firing the ball towards the bottom left corner of the net. However, it flies wide of Neuer’s goal.

48′ Almost! Muller does well to control a deep cross on his chest in the box and then goes to fire a shot towards goal. However, Hofler gets back in the nick of time and denies him.

46′ The second half is under way!

It could still go either way, but you’d expect Bayern to come out in the second half and put the game to bed, as they’ve had the better chances. However, they have been sloppy at the back at times, which has allowed Freiburg in, so they need to cut these mistakes out.

Bayern lead at the break, thanks to Goretzka’s goal on the half an hour mark, but they should be further ahead, after great chances fell to Sule and Sane in the opening half. Freiburg went close through Holer at the other end, but they haven’t troubled Neuer in goal, who is yet to have a save to make and Bayern look the stronger of the two sides and will be confident of scoring a few more in the second period.

45′ + 1′ HALF-TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 1-0 FREIBURG

45′ There will be a minimum of one minute added time played at the end of the first half.

44′ Neuer is yet to make a save in the Bayern goal, with any Freiburg opportunities heading off target. The visitors need to improve in the final third in the second half.

42′ Bayern are keeping the ball well in midfield as we approach the break, just playing it around at their own pace and not showing much urgency to get forward and into the final third.

40′ There isn’t long left to play before the end of the first half, can Freiburg score an equaliser before the half-time whistle? Or, will Bayern be able to double their lead?

38′ With 25 points after 10 games, Bayern have made their best start to a Bundesliga campaign in six years (since 2015-16 – winning each of their opening 10 games that season under Pep Guardiola).

36′ Bayern look very dangerous on the counter-attack at the moment, with Sane constantly trying to break up the pitch and his pace is causing the visitors plenty of problems.

34′ Good move! Bayern counter quickly and Lewandowski picks up the ball deep inside the Freiburg penalty area and then trys to pick out Muller with a low cross at the far post. However, the visitors get defenders back and clear the danger.

32′ It will be interesting to see how Freiburg respond to going a goal down, as they are going to have to push forward more now in search of an equaliser.

T. Müller

Assist

Bayern München

30′ Muller could have gone for goal himself, but Goretzka was in a much better position to his right and the midfielder picked his spot, firing the ball past Flekken to open the scoring.

L. Goretzka

Goal

Bayern München

30′ GOAL! BAYERN TAKE THE LEAD! Freiburg lose the ball right on the edge of the penalty area and Bayern make them pay! Muller picks it up and passes to Goretzka, who only has Flekken to beat and he coolly slides it into the back of the net. It’s 1-0!

28′ CHANCE! Kimmich goes for goal with an acrobatic effort! Muller chips the ball into the penalty area and Kimmich races into the box, trying an overhead kick at goal. However, he doesn’t make great contact with it and Flekken thankfully gathers.

27′ The game is a bit scrappy at the moment, with both teams battling for possession in the middle of the pitch, so there isn’t much action in the final third.

25′ Bayern have not lost any of their 21 home Bundesliga games against Freiburg (W18 D3) – the Bavarian side have only faced Wolfsburg more often at home in the top-flight without ever losing (24).

23′ Bayern are creating good chances in front of goal, with Sule and Sane going close already, but they just can’t seem to beat Flekken at the moment.

21′ CHANCE! Sane finds acres of space down the left wing and is superbly picked out by Kimmich. The winger runs at the Freiburg defence, using the run of Davies on the overlap as a distraction, as he cuts inside and drills a shot towards goal. However, Flekken makes a great save to deny him.

20′ Stoppage in play here as Davies and Gunter collide together at pace and both need to receive some treatment. The referee was quick to stop the game. However, both should be fine to continue.

18′ Kimmich is lucky to get away with just a warning after he blantantly blocks a cross with his hands and gives away a free-kick. That could have been a yellow card.

16′ Wasted opportunity! Bayern counter quickly after they defend a set piece well and Sane sprints up the pitch, before laying it out to Coman. However, the winger seems to run out of ideas in the final third and Freiburg get men back and clear the danger.

14′ Freiburg have won only one of their last 36 Bundesliga games against Bayern (D8 L27): a 2-1 home victory in 2014-15, when Bayern had already secured the title under Pep Guardiola.

12′ CLOSE! Freiburg almost take the lead! Holer picks up the ball on the edge of the box after more sloppy play in midfield by Bayern and Holer fires an effort towards the bottom left corner of the net. However, it flies just wide of the post!

10′ Good pressure by Freiburg! Bayern try and play the ball out from the back and manage to nick it off Hernandez deep inside the Bayern half, with Grifo picking it up and he wins his side a corner.

8′ Bayern are exerting their dominance now, with Freiburg having to get everyone back behind the ball in order to soak up the pressure and prevent conceding an early goal.

6′ Decent chance! Davies gets forward into the penalty area and puts Kubler under pressure at the far post as a cross is whipped in from the right wing. Davies and Kubler both go up for it, but the header that flies towards goal is easily gathered by Flekken.

4′ CHANCE! Bayern work a corner short and the ball is eventually delivered into the box and Goretzka flicks it on, before Sule meets it in the box, firing a low effort towards goal. However, Flekken gets down quickly and makes a great save to deny him.

3′ Freiburg have been in excellent form so far this season, so they will be confident of getting something out of this one and so far Bayern have failed to get going.

1′ Good move! The visitors go on the attack straight away and force an early corner, as Hernandez is forced to turn Grifo’s low cross into the box out of play. However, the set piece comes to nothing.

1′ We’re under way!

The teams are out on the pitch and kick-off is just a few minutes away, stay tuned for all the match action!
