Barcelona matchwinner Fati dedicates winner to Aguero

Barcelona matchwinner Ansu Fati was pleased with their 1-0 win at Champions League opponents Dynamo Kyiv.

Fati has warned that there is a long way to go this season and that no one should count the Catalans out just yet.

The 19-year-old’s excellent, improvised half-volley gave the Blaugrana three points against Dynamo Kyiv and, although the performance wasn’t sparkling, the victory was huge.

“We know we have to improve and work [in order] to do that, the Champions League is very difficult and we have to be ready, the same goes for LaLiga Santander,” said Ansu Fati.

“Everything is proving difficult for us but we need to look ahead.

“Last year we almost won the league. It’s a long season and I think there’s time for everything.”

While Ansu is back from a long spell on the sidelines, fellow forward Sergio Aguero suffered a worrying setback at the weekend and the teenager dedicated his goal to his veteran teammate. The youngster performed Aguero’s trademark celebration after netting against Dynamo in tribute to the Argentine.

“That was for Kun [Aguero], for what he’s been through the past week,” said Fati.

“He’s a player who gives us a lot. He’s going to be out for a while.

“This victory is for him and we hope he recovers soon.”
