The contract of Belgium coach Roberto Martinez carries a knockdown release clause.
Linked with Barcelona, Martinez’s deal with the Belgian Football Federation runs to the end of next year after the 2022 World Cup.
Should Barca firm up their interest, Sport says the Belgian federation won’t try and stop him leaving if he wants to, with a €1.8m clause in his contract that the Catalans can activate to sign him.
Current coach Ronald Koeman had a similar clause with the Netherlands back in the day which he paid.
If Barcelona don’t renew his deal then they will have to repay him that €6m.
