Jeering Barcelona fans left Sergi Roberto in tears

Sergi Roberto was left in tears by jeering Barcelona fans on Tuesday night.

The Catalans were thumped 3-0 by Champions League opponents Bayern Munich at the Nou Camp and large sections of the 40,000 crowd singled out the midfielder for his performance.

The home supporters vented their frustration on Roberto, one of 16 who featured for Barca on the night.

Roberto played right-midfield rather than his usual centre-mid slot for the Champions League clash.

But despite the switch, fans did not cut him much slack before he was replaced by Yusuf Demir on 59 minutes.

The crowd dissent started with mild whistles towards the 29-year-old but his every touched was being loudly booed by the end of his game.

And it affected him so much, he was in floods of tears in the dressing room afterwards, says AS.

Senior statesmen Sergio Busquets and Gerard Pique were among those said to have comforted the Spaniard.
