LIVE: Arsenal vs Norwich

19′ Rupp is penalised for bringing down Saka near the centre circle. Arsenal take the free-kick quickly and Aubameyang latches onto a pass over the top to fire straight at Krul. Krul takes the sting out of the shot and Williams clears. Norwich counter unsuccessfully.

17′ Pepe cuts onto his favoured left foot and swings in a cross from deep. Omobamidele heads it out for an Arsenal corner. It lands to Tierney who strikes from way out into a crowd of Norwich defenders.

15′ Dowell steals the ball from Saka and passes back to Aarons. Aarons crosses in from deep and McLean nods over from the edge of the six-yard box.

14′ Arsenal probe for a while before Lokonga goes for goal from distance. It’s a comfortable save for Krul as the shot is straight at the Norwich goalkeeper.

13′ Krul punches away Pepe’s corner but Arsenal come straight back. Maitland-Niles beats Rupp to reach the byline but can’t keep the ball in play.

12′ Arsenal pass through the midfield and find Pepe who bamboozles Williams to the right of Norwich’s box. Williams recovers well enough to give away the corner.

10′ Norwich escape the press and Tzolis carries the ball down the left for the visitors. The Greek plays a one-two with Dowell and fizzes a low cross across the face of goal. There’s no one in yellow there to meet it though and Arsenal break. Aubameyang shoots early and fires just wide of the left-hand post.

9′ Norwich enjoy their first real foray into Arsenal’s half. Arsenal press well though and force the visitors to pass all the way back to Krul.

7′ White sends a ball down the line for Tomiyasu to chase.  Arsenal are playing a 4-2-3-1 with Tomiyasu at right-back. The Japanese full-back fires in the cross but Norwich clear and try to counter. Dowell can’t release Pukki though.

6′ Norwich have barely been able to get out of their defensive third yet. This could be a long game for the visitors with Arsenal in this kind of mood.

4′ Tomiyasu slams a shot against a Norwich defender from outside the box. Arsenal’s new signing then runs straight at Tzolis down the right. Tzolis hands Arsenal a throw-in.

3′ Pepe takes on two Norwich players and tempts WIlliams into conceding another corner. Arsenal have started well. The corner comes in and Gabriel can’t control his header at the far post. Norwich get the goal-kick.

2′ Norwich see the corner away without too much difficulty. Arsenal look to have started this game with burning purpose, given their humiliating start to the season.

1′ Arsenal go on the attack right away as Tierney flings in a cross from the left. Norwich promptly clear it away. Pepe takes on Williams down the opposite flank and Williams slides in to concede the first corner of the game.

1′ The players take the knee and Arsenal get this game underway!

The two teams are out on the pitch at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal are wearing their traditional red and white home colours. Norwich will play in their distinctive yellow shirts and green shorts.

Norwich are timely opponents for Arsenal. Since winning 4-2 at Highbury in their first-ever Premier League match in 1992, Norwich are winless in eight away league games against the Gunners, conceding 24 goals in that run. Arsenal haven’t lost against the Canaries since a 1-0 defeat at Carrow Road in October 2012. A win here would be a big confidence boost for Arteta and his team.

There are seven changes to Arsenal from their last game, a 5-0 thumping away to Manchester City. Aubameyang deputises as captain with Granit Xhaka suspended, while Tomiyasu makes his debut for the club. Norwich make four changes from their 2-1 home defeat to Leicester City. Omobamidele, Rupp, Dowell and Tzolis come in.

Luckily, Arsenal’s opponents here are Norwich who sit just above them in the relegation zone. Daniel Farke’s Canaries too have yet to pick up a point in the league this season, although they have had tricky opening fixtures. After recruiting heavily during the transfer window, Norwich will be hopeful this could be the game where they end their 13-game losing streak in the Premier League.

Arsenal aren’t used to finding themselves bottom of the Premier League table. This is only the Gunners’ second-ever game when starting the day in this position. The only previous such game was their second-ever game in the competition, way back in August 1992. Mikel Arteta’s side urgently need a win or else it won’t just be Arteta’s job that comes into question.
