Real Madrid president Florentino agrees not to go for Barcelona youngster Ilaix

Barcelona will not lose Ilaix Moriba to Real Madrid, it has been revealed.

Sport says with the Super League project still being worked on, the directors at Barça, Madrid and Juventus have strengthened their relationship. They have even decided not to go after the other teams’ players — unless it’s an operation which is beneficial for both parties, such as Barça-Juve with Pjanic.

Madrid’s interest in Ilaix is no secret. In fact, Barça have been convinced at various moments that Los Blancos were behind the young midfielder’s reluctance to renew. And there was something. In Madrid, they consider — and still consider — him an interesting player with a big future. The 18-year-old has over a decade at the top ahead of him.

Given Ilaix’s situation, Madrid president Florentino Perez was encouraged to move for the teenager. Madrid’s recruitment department have good reports on the player and laid everything out to Perez.

However, Perez decided not to follow through on Madrid’s interest after reaching a ‘no aggression pact with Joan Laporta. The relations between Barça and Madrid are better since Laporta was re-elected. The Super League project has helped that. That is why Perez will not move for Ilaix.
