Chelsea, Man City target Ilaix commits to Guinea with eye on Prem move

Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba’s decision to commit his international future to Guinea is being viewed as part of a plan to move to England.

Ilaix has decided to reject Spain and play for the nation of his mother.

Mundo Deportivo says with English football’s new points system for international signings, the prospect of playing immediately for Guinea’s senior team offers Ilaix a better chance of being cleared to make the move to the Premier League.

Chelsea and Manchester City are being linked with Ilaix, who has less than a year to run on his Barca deal and is now available for euro;15m.

The 18 year-old midfielder had been capped by Spain from U16 to U19 level.
