PSG signing Lionel Messi is due a fortune from former club Barcelona.
While he has signed a bank-busting two-year deal with PSG – which includes part of his salary being paid in PSG cryptocurrency fan tokens – Messi is also owed a stunning €52m by Barca.
Sport says Messi is owed the staggering amount after agreeing to delay payment of part of his salary in negotiations with former president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Bartomeu’s successor, Joan Laporta, will now oversee the payment of the outstanding wages to their former captain.
Negotiations have already begun, with Laporta committed to paying what is owed in the coming months.
