Barcelona confident Messi deal secured after €250M cash injection

Barcelona are confident securing Lionel Messi to his new contract after a fresh cash injection from the LaLiga.

After the LaLiga reached an agreement with the CVC investment fund to help tackle the competition’s debts, it’s been revealed Barca will receive €250m to assist their finances.

With this, Barça will be clear to register Messi and the rest of their additions under their salary cap.

Of the €250m, LaLiga has established conditions: 70 per cent must be invested in infrastructure, 15 per cent in refinancing debt and losses caused by the stadium lockout and another 15 per cent is to invest in the squad.

As such, Barça will have about €40m, which according to sources inside LaLiga, will be enough to register Messi.
