Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is confident Lionel Messi will sign a new contract.
Messi is currently off contract and while he has agreed terms over a new five-year deal, he cannot put pen to paper due to wage cap concerns.
But De Jong told Sport: “He played and won the Copa America and it ended on July 11.
“It is normal that he is still on vacation and I hope he will come back to us soon.
“He’s the best player in the world, without him here, it’s very different.”
