Barcelona seek to renegotiate contracts of Busquets and Roberto

Barcelona are seeking to renegotiate the contracts of Sergi Busquets and Sergi Roberto.

Mundo Deportivo says talks have begun with the two stars over an extension, with no final decisions made yet.

Recent projections have discovered that Barcelona are more than €1billion (£858m) in debt, and the club are also over the 40 per cent wage cap set for them by LaLiga.

This means that players will have to be axed this summer with money recouped from departures, and lower financial packages for contracts, helping the club to recover.

Neither Roberto nor Busquets are exempt from the slashes, and both will be forced to settle for smaller salaries if they are to stay in Catalonia.
