UNCOVERED: The stunning PSG contract offer which convinced Liverpool midfielder Wijnaldum

The salary offer tabled by PSG to Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum has been revealed.

Wijnaldum was widely expected to become Ronald Koeman‘s latest recruit at the Nou Camp when his Reds contract expires.

However, the Dutchman is now set to join Ligue 1 side PSG, with personal terms being thrashed out while he is on international duty ahead of Euro 2020.

The twist in the Wijnaldum tale appears to rest heavily on the salary being offered to the 30-year-old and Barcelona continuing to stall over his signing.

De Telegraaf says the French giants have offered the box-to-box midfielder an annual salary worth more than £8.6million NET on a three-year deal.

Barcelona are unable to offer those sort of terms due to financial constraints for a player that it’s understood some board members aren’t that keen on signing.

Another key factor in Wijnaldum’s turn of attention is working under PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino, who he previously admitted he was keen to play under at Tottenham before joining Liverpool from Newcastle.
