Alba expects Koeman to remain Barcelona coach

Jordi Alba expects Ronald Koeman to remain as Barcelona coach.

There have been plenty of rumours about Koeman’s future in recent weeks, but it now seems as though Barcelona president Joan Laporta has decided to stick with the Dutchman.

“I hope that everything is resolved as soon as possible,” Alba told TVE when asked about Koeman’s future.

“The coach has a contract and has had a great season. The decision is the president’s and we will accept it.”

Alba’s name has come up as a possible big-name player that may depart the Camp Nou this summer, but he has made clear that he hopes to retire at the club.

“I have three years left on my contract and I think I am capable of [staying for the remainder of my deal],” he noted.

“The club’s decision is up to them and my intention is to stay at Barcelona for life.”
