Barcelona assistant coach Alfred Schreuder has revealed how involved captain Lionel Messi is in the day-to-day running of the club.
Schreuder, gave an interview to AD, in which he spoke about the growth of the team and also praised Lionel Messi.
“We did a training session Pique had not yet done, he had been injured a long time, so I wanted to tell him how the exercise went. Messi came over and said ‘Alfred, don’t bother, I’ve already told him.’ That’s Messi, he sees everything. He understands it all, pays attention to everything that concerns the team and is always thinking about the future, like us.”
He also said it was important to remain humble when working with players who have won nearly everything.
“Messi, Busquets, Ter Stegen, they are at the highest level, in their thinking about football too. It would be strange if you were shouting at them, or being a know-it-all who tells Messi, ‘Leo, you’ve got to play that ball on your left’.”
