Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong insists the players are ignoring the reporting of Lionel Messi‘s contract being leaked to the media.
De Jong spoke to TV3 about the Lionel Messi contract reveal.
“It doesn’t affect us what’s happening outside,” said the Dutchman. “The dressing room is protected.”
The big question is over where Messi will go in the summer, or if he will stay at the club.
“I would like Messi to stay next year with us, but it’s a topic I can’t say anything about. He has to decide what he wants to do with his future,” continued De Jong.
“It was one of the factors that made me decide to come to Barca. Not the most important one but one of the ones that influenced the decision. He’s been the best player in the world for 15 years. When I was 12 he already was that. So to play by his side is fantastic.”
