Barcelona goalscorer Antoine Griezmann defended Lionel Messi after victory over Athletic Bilbao.
Griezmann spoke highly of Messi after details of his earnings at Barcelona were leaked the night before the game against Athletic Club.
The French international was speaking after goals from himself and Messi earned Barcelona a 2-1 win over Athletic on Sunday night.
“We’re enjoying Leo Messi, he’s a legend,” Griezmann told Movistar+.
Griezmann also explained the thinking behind the celebration for his goal, where he gathered the whole squad by the corner flag.
“Sometimes you play, sometimes you don’t, but everyone is part of a team,” he added.
The victory takes Barcelona above Real Madrid into second in the LaLiga Santander table, ten points behind leaders Atletico Madrid.
“There are lots of games to go and we have to focus on ourselves,” Griezmann said.
“We have to try to win every game we have left and then we’ll see.”
