Koeman offers support as ex-Barcelona B coach Eusebio ‘in stable condition’

Former Barcelona B coach Eusebio Sacristan is in a stable condition after brain surgery on Thursday.

Eusebio was rushed to hospital in Valladolid after a fall at a local restaurant.

A statement yesterday confirmed that “after the last 24 hours, Eusebio remains in a stable clinical situation, within seriousness.

“He remains in the Intensive Care Unit, in a situation of induced coma, requiring constant vital care. Control tests will be carried out again today. The next statement about his health will be issued tomorrow, Monday, January 4, around noon”.

Barca coach Ronald Koeman stated on Sunday: “I wish everyone a good year with many successes for the club and I also wish good health. And it’s a good time to think about our former player Eusebio after what has happened.

“We are aware of your status and we have all the reports that I hope you recover from your problem. He’s a great guy. I want to give a lot of encouragement and I want to show my total support to him, to ‘Use’, and to all his family.”
