PSG will compete with Manchester City for Barcelona captain Lionel Messi in 2021.
That’s according to French pundit Daniel Rioli, who says PSG want to bring Messi to Paris to help lift their global profile.
He told RMC: “Barça regrets not having sold Leo Messi this summer, there is the fact that FC Barcelona cannot buy Neymar, the Catalan leaders will stop this myth and make believe that it is possible, there is the fact that Messi has not been happy at Barça for more than a year, he wants to continue in a club in Europe and the only club capable of welcoming him is PSG.
“There is the fact that there is no transfer to pay even if the salary will not be a gift. There is the policy of PSG which is always between sport and development of its reputation and its marketing: they will not resist the temptation to make an enormous blow.
“So yes, I am ready to reaffirm it. Afterwards, we know very well that in terms of transfers, everything can go quickly and go wrong, even when we know and hear things that seem to be certainties.”
