Getafe president Torres admits targeting Real Madrid winger Kubo, Barcelona’s Alena

Getafe president Angel Torres says they’re seeking to sign Real Madrid winger Takefusa Kubo and Barcelona midfielder Carles Alena.

Japanese international Kubo hasn’t featured regularly for Villarreal under Unai Emery since joining on loan from Real Madrid in the summer.

Getafe are one of the clubs linked with taking the 19-year-old on loan during the January transfer window.

“It seems as though the boy wants to come,” Getafe president Torres said on Kubo’s future.

“The coach [Jose Bordalas] has told me that, if it’s possible, we need a right winger and a central midfielder.

“They would be the first two reinforcements we’d want to make.”

Alena is another player being linked with a loan move to Getafe, having come close to joining them from Barcelona last season too.

“It could happen because we already had him [agree to sign] last season, but then he went to Real Betis,” Torres added.

“This year, he’s been close.

“What’s happening is that Barcelona aren’t having the best time.

“There’s no fixed board, there are elections on January 24 and everything is difficult.

“For us, [Kubo and Alena] could be two big signings, but we’re not going to go crazy.

“We’re going to try because we have a balance in LaLiga to bring in a few reinforcements – one on the right and another in midfield.”
