Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has taken a swipe at Riqui Puig.
Asked about Ronald Araujo and his willingness to learn and improve, Koeman was asked if there are players in the squad who don’t have such characteristics and if Puig is one of them.
“They’re completely different players, one needs more physicality and the other has other qualities,” Koeman said on Araujo and Puig, before going on to seemingly criticise the latter without mentioning him again by name.
“But yes, I like people who work every day to get better and who grasp every opportunity with two hands to try to get better at certain things.
“Nowadays, it’s not only technical quality. There are many others things too.
“In this squad, there are players who may be lacking in certain things.
“Like I’ve said many times, there may be players in the squad with too much competition in their position, but it could be because they’re not doing enough for the coach in training.”
