Barcelona prepared to work loan market in January (if Man City remain stubborn)

Barcelona are prepared to work the loan market in January.

Mundo Deportivo says Barca’s priority is to re-sign Eric Garcia from Manchester City in the New Year.

Off contract in June and knowing the youngster’s preference is to return home, interim Barca president Carles Tusquets has approved a cash offer of €4m being tabled to City. Given the club’s financial situation, Tusquets is reluctant to go higher.

And should City refuse to sell, Barca will then turn to the loan market to find a new centre-half addition.

The Catalans are prepared to take a senior defender on-loan to help boost coach Ronald Koeman‘s squad for the second-half of the season.
