INSIDER: Next 2 games will decide Zidane Real Madrid future

The future of Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane could be decided this coming week.

That’s according to French LaLiga expert Frederic Hermel ahead of Real’s clash with Barcelona on Saturday before a Champions League visit to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Real go into the El Clasico on the back of home defeats to Cadiz in LaLiga and Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

Hermel told RMC: “Zidane plays for his future on Saturday against Barça, and Tuesday in the Champions League against Mönchengladbach. He has two games to convince. If he loses to Barça, he will play for his future at Mönchengladbach.

“I felt him downcast, very tired. There was some concern from technical staff that the directors had refused to recruit. It’s a group that is nothing new, there is no new blood. There are positions with big gaps. For example, no one can replace (Karim) Benzema. (Luka) Jovic sucks. They sold (Achraf) Hakimi and (Ferland) Mendy had to play on the right.”
