Barcelona fullback Sergino Dest hopes to be a role model for US footballers.
Dest has a language barrier to surmount at his new club, but he is understood to be speaking Dutch with Frenkie de Jong, who has helped him settle in his new surroundings.
Dest is the first American to ever play for Barcelona, and he hopes it will inspire others to follow in his footsteps.
“I hope it motivates other American players to work hard and think that one day they can end up at such a huge club like this one,” he noted.
