Barcelona coach Quique Setien insists they cannot afford to rest Leo Messi.
Messi has played 90 minutes in every game since La Liga resumed.
Setien, slightly annoyed, was asked again on Wednesday about Messi ahead of Thursday’s game against Osasuna and said that “we have already spoken about the issue.
“Many players probably need a rest because it’s true that the figures are the same, but everyone is losing that little spark.”
In relation to Messi, who’s scored one in his last seven games, Setien added: “Maybe some records aren’t the same when compared to other years. But we all know who Messi is. He doesn’t need a presentation. If it’s not goals, it’s assists. But he’s a footballer of a stratospheric level. Everything that can be said about him, I have already said.”
