Barcelona comms chief Vives: Board changes about cohesion

Barcelona comms chief Josep Vives has spoken of president Josep Maria Bartomeu restructing the board.

Measures were taken to remodel the structure of the board after six members resigned last week and the club have also decided to take legal action against former vice-president Emili Rousaud.

“It is the moment of cohesion, all the work and all the effort of this management team must be focused until June 2021,” Vives explained.

“In order to make decisions that are absolutely important for the present and the future of the club, there must be debate in the board.

“However, it’s essential that there is a solid consensus to undertake measures in a timely manner.”

With regards to allegations made against the club by Rousaud, the club has remained strong in their rebuttal, as Vives made clear.

“In view of the serious and unfounded accusations made by former vice-president Rousaud in different media sources, the club reiterates and denies any conduct or action that could be classified as corruption having occurred,” he added.

“For the reason, the board has agreed to take criminal action.

Barcelona will never tolerate the casting of suspicion on our performance, which attacks our good name.”
