Getafe president Torres expects May return; baffled by Barcelona pay-cuts

Getafe president Angel Torres has declared he expects the LaLiga to return for May.

Torres is upbeat about the season resuming as Spain works through it’s coronavirus crisis.

“My idea would be to start training after San Isidro and start LaLiga on May 29,” said Torres.

“Before we start the competition we need 15 days of preseason.

“The priority is to play when the doctors and the government say that it is possible to play.”

Torres also admitted he was baffled by Barcelona‘s decision to push for 70 per cent pay-cuts for their players.

He admits there’s no plans for wage reductions at Getafe, adding: “I do not understand that other teams have presented it, I do not understand the rush to resort to this.”
