But the German giants are not expected to make the deal permanent once this season finishes.
And Spanish outlet Sport claims Chelsea are ready to swoop for the playmaker.
Coutinho has experience in the Premier League after spending five years with Liverpool.
Barca are looking for at least €90m, but the Blues want to sign Coutinho on loan with an option to buy.
