Barcelona comms chief Vives: No player has requested not to play

Barcelona management insist none of the players have expressed concerns about the coronavirus.

It’s been announced Barca’s home-leg against Napoli for the Champions League round 16 tie next week will be played at an empty Nou Camp.

Barca comms chief Josep Vives revealed: “No Barça player has asked us not to play.

“A few days ago we made a communication with the athletes of the club and with employees about the measures that we were going to take. In addition, doubts and questions were answered and we have had no complaints and no one has said that they do not want to play a game.”

He also said: “We are not aware of any positive results (for coronavirus).

“(Medical service staff) constantly test the players in every way. I am not aware that we are doing coronavirus tests because there are none that have shown any symptoms. The doctors have controlled all the players to the second, and not because we now have this scenario.”
