Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has confessed an ambition to play with Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
Bernardo will hope to line up for City against Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at the Bernabeu.
The Portugese, though, does not view Real as one of his contenders to win the Champions League outright this season, instead naming Barcelona, PSG and his own City side.
He told SER Catalunya: “Barça with Messi is always very dangerous, PSG, with Neymar and Mbappé, is a team that without as much experience as Madrid or Barça, can do well. And we really want to.”
After mentioning Messi’s importance to Barcelona, Bernardo was pressed on whether he would like to play alongside the six-time Ballon d’Or winner.
“Of course,” he said. “I play with Cristiano [Ronaldo] in the national team and if I played with Messi, being able to say that I played with the best in history would be a pleasure, but it is a complicated matter. At City or in Barça it will be welcome.”
