Lionel Messi is ruling out committing to a long-term deal with Barcelona.
The Barca captain’s current deal runs to 2021 and Mundo Deportivo says the Argentine will resist an offer to commit to a long-term contract.
Instead, Messi would prefer a year-to-year arrangement in order to maintain control of his future.
Just this week, Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu said: “He will end up leaving Barça whenever he wants. His relationship with us is for life.
“He still has a long future here with us. Let’s take advantage of him.”
