Valencia coach Celades delighted beating Barcelona: Rodrigo still our player

Valencia coach Albert Celades retains hope of keeping Rodrigo Moreno after victory over Barcelona.

Los Che beat the Catalans 2-0 on Saturday at Mestalla but the Camp Nou side are considering a move for the forward this January due to Luis Suarez‘s long-term injury.

“I can’t assess all of the situations that may occur,” Celades said after the win against Barcelona.

“No opinion of mine can change the situation.

“He did well, he really wanted to play.

“It’s not the first time he’s been through this, as it happened in the summer [with Atletico Madrid].

“But he played for a while today and that gives us a lot of joy.”

Rodrigo did leave the field before the players acknowledged their fans after the game though, which Celades wasn’t keen to discuss.

“I don’t know what happened,” he said.

“Rodrigo is a Valencia player and that’s the situation.

“We’ll see what happens.”
