LIVE: Manchester United vs Burnley

43′ The ball falls to Pereira outside the box and once again, he doesn’t have anyone making a run ahead of him into the penalty area. He goes for goal from distance but sends his shot sailing high over the crossbar.

41′ United work the ball upfield quickly and it comes out to Pereira on the left of the box. There’s not many in the area to aim for, but he curls a cross into the middle and Mee gets across to head it out for a corner.

B. Mee

Assist

Burnley

39′ Mee rises above Jones in the middle of the box to get on the end of McNeil’s free-kick and flick it into Wood’s path.

C. Wood

Goal

Burnley

39′ BURNLEY TAKE THE LEAD! The free-kick is flicked on by Mee and Wood pulls away from Maguire at the near post and hits the shot on the volley, past De Gea and into the back of the net to score with Burnley’s first shot on target. 1-0 Burnley!

37′ Westwood gets his head up and spots Wood’s run into the box. It’s a good throughball from him and the forward gets ahead of his defender, but De Gea is quickly off his line to collect it.

35′ United are keeping possession well in midfield, but are struggling to do something with it when they get into the final third. The crosses into the box have let them down at times and Burnley are dealing with it well.

33′ GREAT CHANCE! Matic picks out Martial’s run between two Burnley defenders and it looks like the Frenchman’s in on goal. Taylor does brilliantly to get across to him and times his tackle perfectly to block the shot ahead of Pope.

32′ GOOD SAVE! Wan-Bissaka takes the ball past Taylor down the right again and swings a good cross into the six-yard box. James rises highest to meet it at the far post and Pope gets across to tip it over his crossbar.

30′ Matic catches Westwood just outside the box and Burnley have a free-kick in a dangerous position. McNeil goes for goal himself, but it’s a wild effort from him as he curls his shot high over the crossbar.

28′ Wan-Bissaka’s cross takes a deflection off Tarkowski on its way into the six-yard box and Mata is at the near post to reach it. He can’t sort his feet out in time and it hits him and bounces back to Taylor.

26′ Williams cuts back inside after being blocked on the left by Lowton and tries to swing a cross into Martial in the middle. There’s a bit too much power on it though and the ball bounces off him and back to Burnley.

24′ CLOSE! Burnley win a free-kick near the halfway line and it’s swung into the box by McNeil. Mee gets on the end of it on the edge of the area and flicks it onto Wood, but he sends his header just wide of the near post.

23′ Tarkowski commits himself but misses the ball on the edge of the box and it goes through to Mata who has a go. His effort is blocked by Mee, but he deflects it into Fred’s path. He takes a touch before hitting his low shot straight at Pope.

21′ James pulls away from Taylor on the left again, but his cross into the box is a poor one as Tarkowski gets ahead of Martial to intercept it and set Burnley off on the counter.

19′ Burnley are still closing down United high up the field and they’re forcing United to move the ball around quicker. Maguire plays it back to the goalkeeper and his clearance goes straight to Cork as he’s under pressure from Wood.

17′ McNeil drifts inside from the left wing and is waiting to get into some space before putting his cross into the box. Nobody makes the run, so he runs at Jones, but the defender times his tackle well to win the ball.

15′ GOOD CHANCE! It’s a good cross from Wan-Bissaka as he squares it into the middle of the box and picks out Martial. It’s just ahead of him and he reaches it on the stretch, but can’t direct his effort on target.

13′ United are looking to do the league double against Burnley for the first time since the 1975-76 campaign, following their 2-0 win at Turf Moor last month.

11′ It’s patient build-up play to work it out to Wan-Bissaka on the right and he gets ahead of Taylor to put a cross into the near post. Pereira is there to meet it, but the ball just hits his standing leg and bounces out of play.

10′ Williams has a lot of space to run into down the left and he squares his cross back to Fred on the edge of the box. The Brazilian hits it first time, but it’s well blocked by Tarkowski.

8′ McNeil is staying tight to Jones in the box to try and put the defender under pressure and win the ball back. He dispossesses him, but a heavy touch allows Matic to intercept it and clear United’s lines.

6′ Martial has gone down in the centre circle and he’s holding onto his ankle. The medical team are on to give him some treatment and he’s walking around gingerly when he gets back up but he’s going to carry on.

4′ Burnley are closing United down high up the field and have won back possession on the right. Westwood switches play out to let the left but McNeil can’t get a cross into the box as he’s under pressure from Wan-Bissaka.

2′ United quickly work their way upfield and into the final third, but Burnley are making it difficult for them to find a way through. Fred gets it on the edge of the box and goes for goal, but sends his effort well wide of the far post.

1′ Mata gets the game underway for United!
