PSG star Neymar is backing Xavi to succeed with Barcelona.
With Ernesto Valverde still in place, Barca management have held talks with former captain Xavi about leaving Al Sadd and succeeding their head coach. For the moment, word is Xavi has turned down the approach.
Asked about the developments, Neymar said after PSG‘s 3-3 draw with AS Monaco: “Xavi, he was an exceptional player.
“And I believe that as a coach, he is good. If he is to train Barça, it’s a chance for Barça. He is a great person. I had the pleasure of playing with him.
“I wish him the best.”
Neymar, himself, is a summer target for Barca’s board in 2020.
