Lionel Messi is waiting on Barcelona to open new contract talks.
It’s emerged this week that Messi’s contract carries a break clause for the end of every campaign where the Argentine can leave for free.
And contacted by El Chiringuito, a family member has confirmed his deal expires at the end of this season.
While it’s been claimed his contract runs to 2021, the source insists it will expire in 2020 – though there is the option to extend it by another 12 months.
For the moment, Messi is yet to hear from Barca about new terms.
