Barcelona president Bartomeu turned off De Ligt over huge Raiola demands

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu was expected in Amsterdam today to make a last ditch bid to sign Matthijs de Ligt.

The Ajax defender is expected to sign for Juventus, with terms already settled between clubs.

However, Mundo Deportivo says Bartomeu hadn’t given up and wanted to meet with De Ligt and Ajax officials today to reach terms.

De Ligt was insisting agent Mino Raiola also fly in for the summit.

Raiola had already spoken to Bartomeu over the phone, demanding €10m-a-year for De Ligt and a €11m commission for himself.

After taking the call, Bartomeu chose to leave the Dutchman to Juve.
