Former Ajax and Barcelona coach Louis van Gaal has questioned Frenkie de Jong’s decision to move to Spain.
De Jong will leave Ajax for Barca this summer.
But Van Gaal says: “In my opinion he could have chosen better.
“I think he’s going to have a difficult time there, not only because maybe he has a different role, but because he will have to compete with others to be in the starting lineup.
“I think De Jong is a very good player, but so is Ivan Rakitic, and five years ago, when I was at Manchester United, I wanted to sign Arturo Vidal.”
