Jubilee security slammed as evicted fan speaks out

Kicked out of Jubilee Stadium by several police officers and security guards after taking his disabled daughter to a nearby bathroom, Sydney FC fan Rory Carroll has opened up on the shocking incident.

Carroll’s eviction was caught on camera by fellow fans with social media slamming his treatment and Carroll himself voicing his concerns about stadium security prior.

A devoted football fan who simply wanted to take his daughter to the A-League semi-final, Carroll declared ‘enough is enough’ when it comes to over-zealous security at football matches.

Carroll wasn’t the only one subject to questionable security measures on Sunday night with Sydney FC CEO Danny Townsend conceding club procedures had changed as a result of the game being a final.

In the aftermath of Carroll’s eviction, the football community has rallied around him with fans and A-League players adamant he and his family must be compensated properly.

Football Federation Australia have confirmed they are investigating the incident and have reached out to Carroll.

“Football Federation Australia (FFA) is aware of an incident last night where a Sydney FC fan was evicted from the stadium,” an FFA spokesperson said.

“Last night, both the FFA Head of Leagues, Greg O’Rourke, and Sydney FC CEO, Danny Townsend, spoke to the fan involved. FFA and Sydney FC both made a commitment to the fan that they will raise this matter with NSW Police and the venue security provider this morning to obtain further details about the incident.

“FFA has this morning spoken to the NSW Police commander responsible to commence this investigation process.”

The off-field incident soured an otherwise entertaining night of A-League action that saw the Sky Blues smash Melbourne Victory 6-1 to book their place in the grand final against Perth Glory.
