Kylian Mbappe slammed for ’embarrassing’ dive in France’s 4-1 win against Moldova

KYLLIAN MBAPPE has been slammed for his “embarrassing” dive in France’s 4-1 Euro 2020 qualifier win against Moldova.

The French forward had already helped France go 4-0 up with an 87th minute goal before substitute Vladimir Ambros pulled one back.

Kylian Mbappe went through on goal against Moldova but then went to ground after going past the keeper

With two minutes added on at the end, Mbappe raced through on goal and rounded keeper Alexei Koselev.

However, as the PSG forward, touted as football’s new golden boy, knocked the ball round the side he went down in search of a penalty as Koselev slid past him.

Replays made it clear there was no contact, as Mbappe stuck both legs out and dived on the ground to try and win a spot kick.

The 20-year-old was carded for his simulation – and fans reacted on Twitter by calling out the touted prospect for his “shocking” dive.

One said: “Mbappe with a SHOCKING dive and a SHOCKING performance tonight.

“You’re beating Moldova 1-4, 91st minute, you’ve got your easy tap in despite your awful performance, game done and dusted, but then you make one the most blatant dives I’ve seen this season, add a smug “yeah obvious pen”, then act surprised afterwards.”

Another said: “Mbappe had a poor game but what I really didn’t like that dive in the very end.

“That’s embarrassing. There’s absolutely no need for something like that. What’s worse is that it’s not the 1st time and he keeps doing this again and again.”

One commented: “Mbappe deserves a red for that dive. No even respect the intelligence of the ref.”

Another commented: “Look at that embarrassing dive from Mbappe…”
