Orlando City SC 6, New England Revolution 2 | 2019 Preseason Match Recap

Orlando City SC jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead, and then made it a rout with three goals in the first five minutes of the second half, finishing with a 6-2 home win over the New England Revolution to win the Orlando City Invitational.

The scoring opened with Uri Rosell converting a penalty kick in the 29th minute, and then forcing the issue less than three minutes later with a low cross sent goalward, resulting in an own goal off the Revs’ Brandon Bye.

The match opened up in the second half with Josue Colman, set up by Cameron Lindley, scoring less than two minutes. That was quickly followed by Rosell setting up another goal, this one an assist to Santiago Patino. Then, Colman added an assist to his goal, finding Cristian Higuita to make it 5-0 in the 50th, and adding to the exuberance for Orlando fans — including new signing Nani, who was on hand for the festivities, but not yet in the squad.

The Lions would then make it 6-0 in the 56th minute, as Benji Michel drew a penalty call which Dillon Powers would then convert.

Teal Bunbury would salvage some pride for the Revs, scoring on a header in the 81st minute to spoil the clean sheet, and then scoring again just before the final whistle sounded.
