Sporting Kansas City topped 2018 USL Championship finalist Phoenix Rising FC 3-2 after 150 minutes of preseason action played on Phoenix’s home field.
The 150 minutes were split into two 75-minute scrimmages and Sporting KC are now a perfect 4W-0L-0D in preseason with one match remaining against fellow Concacaf Champions League participants Houston Dynamo on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona.
Liga MX side Toluca will then await SKC in the Champions League Round of 16 beginning Feb. 21 at Children’s Mercy Park.
Graham Zusi, for one, already appears to be in-form with this powerful free kick that netted his team’s second goal of the night in Phoenix:
