UEFA Nations League: When is it, where is it – and how do I get tickets?

The UEFA Nations League Finals is fast approaching. Taking place in June of this year, it will involve the four group winners of the top-ranked League A.

As well as England and hosts Portugal, Switzerland, and the Netherlands will compete to be the first ever winner.

With that in mind here is a quick guide.

When are the games and where can I watch them?

If you’re unable to make it out to Portugal, fear not, because the finals are being broadcast on British TV. Sky Sports have the rights to broadcast the final four.

Regardless of whether England win or lose their opening game against the Netherlands, they will still have one more fixture to contest — be it a final or a third-place playoff.

The draw for the competition took place back in December in Dublin. The fixtures are as follows.

Semi-finals

Wednesday 5 June: Portugal v Switzerland (Porto, 7:45 PM)

Thursday 6 June: Netherlands v England (Guimaraes, 7:45 PM)

Match for third place

Sunday 9 June: Guimaraes, 2:00 PM

Final

Sunday 9 June: Porto, 7:45 PM

Where are the Finals and how can I get tickets?

Italy, Poland, and Portugal all expressed interest in hosting The finals for the competition will be held in Portugal. The host venues are Porto’s Estadio do Drago and the Estadio D. Afonso Henriques in Guimaraes.

You can apply for tickets through UEFA’s ticket portal here. You are allowed a maximum of 4 tickets of the same price category, and the deadline for applications is 1pm on February 12.

All tickets will be delivered as mobile tickets through an iOS/Android app, and it’s important to remember that only the applicant and their guests are allowed to use the tickets. There are no name changes allowed.

What is the finals format?

The tournament maintains a traditional setting. The winners of the semi-finals advance to the finals, while the losers contest a third-place playoff. In the event of a draw, we undertake 30 minutes of extra-time. As you may have seen in the League Cup this year a rule change facilitated a fourth substitution during this period. The same is true of the UEFA Nations League Final Four.

What does the winner get?

As well as the trophy, the prize money for the competition is as follows:
